Music & Dance

The heart of our festival is live music and the joy of dancing together. This year's lineup features a wonderful mix of talent, including American roots musician Hank Wedel, traditional Irish tunes from Lee Sessions, folk singer-songwriter Colin McLean, and a special classical concert by the Cork Light Orchestra at St. Michael's Church. From toe-tapping folk to lively trad sessions, the music will have you clapping, singing, and dancing on the Green. Bring your dancing shoes and your singing voice – everyone is welcome to join the fun!

A Festival Rooted in History

Blackrock Village has a rich history stretching back centuries, from its days as a fishing and maritime hub to the charming seaside community it is today. The Blackrock Village Festival celebrates this heritage by bringing together old traditions and new memories. The famous Grotto, the historic Marina, and the beautiful St. Michael's Church have stood as landmarks for generations. As you walk the parade route from the Marina past the Grotto to the Plaza, you are following paths that locals have walked for over a hundred years. Our festival is proud to keep Blackrock's story alive, one celebration at a time.

Are Dogs Welcome?

Yes, well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome at the Blackrock Village Festival! We know that dogs are part of the family too. However, please keep the following in mind for everyone's safety and enjoyment: dogs must remain on a short lead at all times, please clean up after your dog (bins are provided), and avoid bringing your dog into crowded areas or near food stalls if they become anxious. Water bowls will be available at the Information Tent. If your dog is nervous around crowds or loud music, we recommend leaving them at home where they will feel more comfortable.
